Meet Our Physician
William L. Barnard Jr., MD
Dr. William L. Barnard, Jr. received his medical degree from Columbia College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York City, NY. He completed his general surgical internship and residency at the New York Hospital Cornell and his orthopaedic residency at the Columbia Presbyterian Hospital, where he also did a fellowship in shoulder, knee and hip replacement. He has been board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AOBOS) since 1982.
Upon completion of his residency training, Dr. Barnard became an Assistant Professor at the Brown University Orthopaedic Program. In recent years, he has been recognized by Brown University and Brown Medical School with the Dean’s Teaching Excellence Award and the Distinguished Teacher Award for 20 Years of Teaching.
Prior to relocating to New Hampshire, Dr. Barnard was on staff at Rhode Island Hospital and Miriam Hospital in Providence RI, and Memorial Hospital in Pawtucket RI. In December of 2008, he joined the staff of Parkland Physicians Services. He currently treats patients in our Derry and Salem offices and is affiliated with Parkland Medical Center.
